History is a funny thing. Similar to Nikolai Tesla, his theories and accomplishments, speaking from a western educated point of view, we are not taught in an institutionalized classroom anything in regards to the oldest civilization. (first written alphabet/form of writing, agriculture, astronomy, etc…) Outside of Ghostbusters or the movie The Fourth Kind mentioning it, the Sumerian civilization is hardly taught about or spoken of. Why do you think this is? Were you schooled in this ancient culture from over 6000 years ago?
Ötzi the Iceman’s knife, c. 3,300 BC. The small flint blade is secured to an ash wood handle using sinew, while the knife’s sheath is woven out of lime bast (the inner bark of a lime tree). The remarkably well preserved remains of Ötzi the Iceman were recovered from an Alpine glacier in 1991. He had lain there undiscovered for over 5,000 years.
